Meet the 2009-2010 Board of Directors of the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Marketing Association


Lisa Daniel

President

Lisa is currently the Director of Marketing at Diversified Clinical Services, Inc. (DCS), Lisa Daniel has held a wide range of market communications and public affairs roles. Graduating in 1993 from Troy University with a double major of broadcast journalism and political science, Lisa was a weekend anchor and managed several political campaigns before settling into the health care industry in 1994. Since then, Lisa served in a government affairs role for Prudential Healthcare, public relations and internal communications positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF), and as Director of Marketing at Sterling Healthcare and DCS.

Chris Boivin

President-Elect

Chris is the Director of Technology on the Insights team of Acosta Sales & Marketing in Jacksonville, Florida. In this position, he facilitates the development and implementation of technology utilized by Acosta Insights and its clients for retail analysis and strategy definition. This includes managing Acosta’s InfoLync data presentation software (currently installed with 12 CPG manufacturers), and the implementation of new tools to support efficient item assortment, pricing/promotion optimization, shopper insights and other key initiatives. Chris holds MBAs in Marketing, Finance and MIS from the University of South Florida and a BA in Communications from the State University of New York.


Laurie Petree

VP of Membership

Laurie currently works with StorterChilds Printing, Inc. and Consolidated Graphics as a sales consultant, specializing in developing marketing campaigns and collateral management. Laurie works in the Jacksonville market exclusively, and has been with StorterChilds Printing for over two years. Previously, Laurie worked with other industry-leading corporations including RR Donnelly, International Paper, and Heidelberg USA, Inc., and is a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Graphic Communications.


Natalie Halpern

VP of Programming

Natalie is a Communications and Marketing professional and award-winning Producer. Her career has focused on crafting stories for a wide range of media and using innovative approaches, including multimedia, to develop communications, marketing, and community outreach initiatives that increase an organization’s visibility, engage new audiences, generate brand awareness, and improve internal communications. Before moving to Jacksonville, Natalie was Media Relations Manager/Producer for a large nonprofit in Washington, D.C. Her documentary, “Africa’s Daughters,” which captures how a high school education transforms the lives of two Ugandan girls, has screened at 17 film festivals, winning the Atlanta Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary Short. Natalie has a B.S. in Journalism and a B.A. in Political Science from Boston University and speaks Spanish, French and Portuguese.


Tom Brenneman

VP Web & Interactive Media

Tom is currently the Interactive Solutions Manager for 352 Media Group. In this position, he is responsible for sales, marketing and business development for both existing clients and prospective clients on a national level. Tom brings over 10 years of Web design and marketing experience to the team.


Anne Jessup

VP Community & Charitable Affairs

Anne is the Marketing Services Manager for LandMar Group, LLC, a real estate development company operating out of Jacksonville, FL, with active communities throughout Southeast Georgia and Florida. Currently, Anne is responsible for the creation, implementation and management of all of LandMar's marketing plans and strategies including branding, media and communication programs.


Carey Hepler

VP Research

Carey Hepler joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida in 2002 and currently serves as the Innovator. His focus is on “disruptive innovation,” and is looking for the new “Wellness” business model to supplant the current health insurance model. Since coming to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Mr. Hepler has created or overseen several innovations and created the segmentation strategy for group and individual markets.Mr. Hepler is a Black Belt in Quality Function Deployment® (QFD) and focuses on Innovation through identifying the unspoken needs of customers. He is a member of the Council on Innovation, a network of leaders across multiple industries in the area of innovation. Prior to joining BCBSF Mr. Hepler spent twelve years in the credit card business with AT&T Universal Card and with Citibank. He started in Customer Service, moved to Quality where the AT&T Universal Card won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. After completing his MBA at the University of Florida, Hepler became a SAS analyst in Marketing. He worked in the College division of Citibank as an analyst on acquisition and retention projects including launching a debit card for the Teen market.


Megan Seery

VP Communications

Megan Seery serves as the Marketing and Grants Manager for Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida, a youth development organization that serves more than 1,500 children and teenagers daily in a tri-county area and is known as, "The Positive Place for Kids." She volunteers with the North Florida Land Trust and previously worked as a staff writer for several local and regional publications. Megan is a University of Florida graduate. 


Barbara Karasek

VP Sponsorships and Secretary

A 15-year sports industry veteran, Barbara Karasek has held positions with the PGA TOUR, NASCAR and the United States Olympic Committee after cutting her teeth in advertising and public relations. Serving as the PGA TOUR’s Director of Corporate Marketing since 2007, Karasek manages marketing and activation platforms for corporate partners such as Coca-Cola, Bank of America, Barclays and General Mills. Previously, Karasek led NASCAR’s Consumer Marketing division, charged to grow the fan base with consumer programs ranging from events in LA and NYC, mobile tours and music concerts. Tenure with the United States Olympic Committee stemmed from “a temp job that lasted 8 years,” and resulted in living and traveling to 20+ countries. Other high-profile roles in advertising and entertainment are a result of hard work and a capitalizing spirit. A former college volleyball player, Karasek often lectures about marketing and conducts motivational speaking engagements. Having received a BA in Sociology (Furman University, ’92) and an MA in Mass Communication (University of South Florida, ’95), USF honored her with the Outstanding Alumnus Award in 2008. Readily admitting “I’ve been blessed with a cool career path,” Karasek and husband, Tony, enjoy many hobbies and are in constant search of adventure.
